The Buckaroos
"The Buckaroos (stationed in San Francisco, CA), were birthed in the fall of 2004 when four 'musicians' with a common distaste for effects-ridden music began working hard to cause a ruckus that could snarl and claw its way through the hackneyed drone of modern sound, and relieve the world of this terrible burden. The difference between The Buckaroos and other modern day folk-esque groups (like the punk rock Flogging Molly or most of the alt country scene) is that when the other bands turn to blasting distortion behind a fiddle or slowly picking a banjo over electronic samples to achieve power, the Buckaroos do it the old-fashioned way: by gargling Garth Brooks' left over beer, and waiting until they really need to pee before they play. You will find none of that processed here; they play raw, loud, and honest.....mostly." |

The Gallows
Members of Stockton, California based bands The Lobstrosities, Scattered Fall and Cremasters of Disasters got together and played acoustically at a party. Having so much fun they decided to write some songs and play some shows, thus The Gallows were born. Calling on influences from The Poques to the Filthy Thieving s, Against Me & Minor Threat they wrote songs about Pirates, Drinking, , Romance and of course the Gallows Pole. They quickly became the Thursday night house band at Stockton's Blackwater Cafe and garnered fans young and old playing their own brand of Alt-Folk-Punk. February 4th 2006 they got their first big break opening for THE VIOLENT (performing in front of over 1200 people) at the Bob Hope Theatre in Stockton. In July of that same year they got another break as the opening act for THE REVEREND HORTON HEAT at a sold-out show at the Fat Cat in Modesto. With these high profile shows under The Gallow’s belt they were quickly offered shows opening up for Fishbone, The Chop Tops, The Slackers, Tempest and others; Playing shows all over Northern California from Santa Cruz to Sacramento, San Francisco to Sonora. The Gallows can't wait to come to your town and play for you. |
